Library takes food for fines
Wood County District Public Library will allow patrons to make donations of food to "pay" overdue fines (only) through Oct. 14.
Funds will go toward Project Homeless Connect of Wood County.
Overdue fines only, other fees are not included in this offer.

Greeks celebrate future at BGSU
Since 2010, Bowling Green State University has made steady progress toward its goal of developing new Greek housing. Construction is now slated to begin in summer 2014.
The university will look back on the history of its chapter houses and celebrate the future townhomes that will open in fall 2016 during an event on Saturday. The celebration will run from 10 a.m. to noon, with a brief program at 10:45 a.m. in the old Fraternity Row Courtyard off Wooster Street.
Historical photos and renderings of the proposed projects will be available for viewing.

Bays Road closed for bridge work
Bays Road has been closed between Ohio 25 and Solether Road for bridge deck replacement, with no date yet set for the road to reopen.

Salvation Army collecting coats
The Salvation Army is starting its "Warm the Children" program to collect new and gently used coats for area children.
Long's Cleaners in Bowling Green again will be the program sponsor.
Coat donations are being accepted through November at the Salvation Army, 1045 N. Main St.; Long's Cleaners, 1204 W. Wooster St.; Sanitary Cleaners, 345 N. Maple St.; St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Drive; and at Blue Ribbon Cleaners in Perrysburg.
