Huntington enters plea of guilty
Bowling Green chiropractor Heather Huntington appeared in court Monday for a change of plea regarding a charge of allowing drug use in her home.
Huntington, 34, plead guilty to an amended charge of obstructing official business. She was given a 60-day jail sentence, which was suspended, and was placed on probation for one year. The court also imposed a $750 fine, which was suspended, and ordered Huntington to pay $250 to the Bowling Green Police Division drug fund.
According to Bowling Green Prosecuting Attorney Matt Reger, the defendent is planning to file an appeal on the sentence, and to request a stay on the sentence until the appeal is concluded.
Previously, Judge Mark Reddin ruled the evidence obtained in a May 11, 2009 search of Huntington's home on Cambridge Boulevard was legal. The defendant had argued the evidence should not be allowed as it was a housesitter who allowed police into the home.
