Investigation in fatal crash continues
The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Bowling Green Post continues to investigate a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred today at approximately 5:27 a.m. on Interstate 75 near milepost 178 in Portage Township,.
According to the patrol, Wayne Wyatt, 59, Chatham, Ontario, was driving a 2013 Volvo commercial tractor-trailer north on Interstate 75 when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned on its side.
Wyatt was taken to Wood County Hospital by Mid County EMS where he was pronounced deceased.
Mid County Fire and Rescue, and VJ's Towing assisted troopers at the scene; the crash remains under investigation.
BG Police investigate sex assault
Police are investigating a sexual assault reported on South College Drive.
The incident, reported on Thursday, allegedly occurred on Sept. 21.
According to Maj. Tony Hetrick of the Bowling Green Police Division, the report indicates that a female was assaulted by a male acquaintance in the incident.
The male acquaintance has been identified but is uncharged at this time.
Montgomery Township moves meeting
BRADNER - The regular meeting of the Montgomery Township Trustees originally scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the township building, 1950 Mermill Road.
German-American Day at museum
The Wood County Historical Center & Museum along with Bowling Green State University will be hosting German-American Day on Wednesday.
The event will start at 7 p.m.
The public is invited to share their-own German-American stories in this Story Slam. Participants will be given five minutes to share a story about German-American cultural encounters, heritage, and travel.
Prizes will be given to the top three stories.
Fellowship and snacks after the program.
This event is free and open to the public.
