I-75 crash injures one
At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash that shut down a part of southbound Interstate 75 north of the city this morning.
According to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at 5:08 a.m. a crash took place on southbound I-75 at the 182 milepost involving a commercial vehicle and a pickup truck.
At least one injury was reported as of 7:20 a.m. According to a dispatcher the roadway reopened as of 8:08 a.m.
Additional information was not available at press time.
Dollar General moves forward
GRAND RAPIDS - Village council gave first reading to an ordinance Monday designed to clear the way for a Dollar General to be constructed in the village.
Council members gave the legislation its first reading after the village planning commission recommended the 1.34-acre property on Wapakoneta Road be rezoned from agricultural to commercial.
Two additional readings are planning on the zoning change at upcoming council meetings. A public hearing on the matter is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Oct. 28, prior to the council meeting.
Council talks land purchase, takes no action
Bowling Green City Council met in special session for an hour Monday night to discuss land acquisition.
Council emerged from executive session at 8, and adjourned.
Four drug arrests in BG
Bowling Green police Friday arrested four in two drug-related incidents.
Brandy Hayes, 23, Bowling Green, and Jahmall Randolph, 38, Toledo, were arrested at 2:53 p.m. in the parking lot of a business in the 1100 block of East Wooster business, for trafficking in cocaine.
That night at 9:19 p.m. , Lisa Zipperer, 23, and Jacob Thomas, 25, both of Bloomdale, were arrested for possession of heroin at the corner of Clough and Baldwin streets.
