Diamond theft reported in BG
Police are investigating the theft Wednesday of a diamond from a downtown Bowling Green jewelry store.
According to Maj. Tony Hetrick of the Bowling Green Police Division, on that day a group of four African-American males and females entered the store, at 139 S. Main St., and some members of the group reportedly distracted store clerks while one member reached over the counter and took a diamond from the glass case.
The incident was caught on video. The value of the diamond taken from the store was not available.
Hetrick said that there are no suspects in the case yet, and police continue to investigate the matter.
