Ridge school auction on hold
The Bowling Green Board of Education has decided to postpone its auction of Ridge Elementary.
The board took the vote after an executive session at its Tuesday meeting.
The board voted 5-0 to postpone the auction 30-40 days from the original Sept. 30 date.
The reason for the postponement has not been made public since the decision was made in executive session, according to board President Ellen Scholl.
Northwood man shot in Toledo
NORTHWOOD - A city man remains hospitalized after he was shot twice in Toledo Monday evening.
Toledo Police reports that at 9:12 p.m. Joshua Hainer, Northwood, was walking in the 800 block of Rogers Street, near the Rainbow Market, when he was approached by three unknown black males who reportedly attempted to sell him earrings.
When Hainer declined, one of the suspects produced a handgun and fired several shots, striking Hainer twice. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.
Hainer was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, but an operator at the hospital said that no condition was listed for him Tuesday afternoon.
Quilt show in Walbridge
WALBRIDGE - A quilt show featuring over 150 handmade quilts will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VFW Post 9963 Banquet Hall, 109 N. Main St.
The show is sponsored by the Walbridge Centennial Committee and the Cellar Sewers Quilt Club. Admission is free.

Legion council meets Tuesday
The Wood County Council American Legion meets Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The meeting is being hosted by Portage Post at the VFW hall, 719 S. Main St., Bowling Green.
City cancels two meetings
Bowling Green has canceled two meetings due to lack of agenda items.
The meetings are Wednesday's session of the Traffic Commission and the Oct. 2 meeting of the Planning Commission.
