Fracking talk is Tuesday
On Tuesday, Nathan Rutz from Ohio Citizen Action, will talk about what happens in a fracking emergency.
The presentation is part of the "Expert Series" on horizontal hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to inform the local community of the effects of this relatively new industry and its associated air and water pollution and waste disposal issues.
The presentation will be held at Grounds for Thought on  South Main Street from 7 to 9 p.m.
This presentation is not only for emergency responders, but for those who want to understand how a single industry in the United States has been exempted from important environmental and public health protections.
Rutz is a campaign organizer with Ohio Citizen Action based in Cleveland.
The Expert Series is sponsored by Protect BG in support of the Bowling Green Charter Amendment for the Citizen's Bill of Rights, Protect Wood County (www.protectwoodcounty.org), FreshWater Accountability Project Ohio (www.fwapoh.com) and Northwest Ohio Alliance to Stop Fracking (Facebook).

Port Authority meets Monday
The Wood County Port Authority will hold its regular meeting Monday at 7:30 a.m. at the Northwestern Water and Sewer District offices, 12560 Middleton Pike.
