Kidnapping suspect turns self in Tuesday
Nicholas Martinez, 19 of Toledo, wanted in connection with the August kidnapping and robbery of a University of Toledo student, turned himself in to Bowling Green Municipal Court Tuesday morning. He was released on his own recognizance.
The incident remains under investigation.
Martinez along with Brittany Long, Hui Zang and Blake Long have all been charged and their cases are pending.
Pemberville officials tour village tonight
PEMBERVILLE - Village officials are planning a 14-stop tour starting from Village Hall tonight at 5:30.
Using several golf carts, the group will look at curbs, signage, condition of village and private property, roadways and alleys and other items as time allows before sunset.
City property damaged by BBs
The City Administration Building and a city vehicle were both damaged after BBs were fired at them.
The incident was reported Tuesday at 8:20 a.m.
According to Maj. Tony Hetrick of the Bowling Green Police Division, the BBs were fired at, and broke, an office window on the second floor of the western side of the building.
A Chevy Blazer owned by the city which was parked at the scene also had a back window shot out.
No one was in the office or the vehicle when the incident occurred.
Possible suspects have reportedly been identified in the incident.
Bike tour planned Saturday
The Black Swamp Bicycle Club will sponsor a bicycle tour Saturday.
The tour will feature routes of 25, 50, 75 and 100 miles.
There will be four loops, each 25-miles long that will start and end at Bowling Green City Park.
Registration will be from 7 to 9 a.m. at the park. The cost is $25 for adults and $20 for those 13 to 18 years old.
The full-service tour will feature snack and food stops, Dietsch's ice cream at the finish, well-marked scenic routes, SAG support and a raffle. Raffle items include an HD Kindle Fire, bicycle-related items, BGSU clothing and other items.
To encourage participants to also enjoy the Black Swamp Arts Festival, participants will be given complimentary beverage tickets.
