Driver injured in one-car crash
CYGNET - An area man was injured and charged with drunk driving in a crash at Interstate 75 and Cygnet Road Saturday. The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that at 3 p.m. Donald Wright, Leipsic, was northbound on I-75 when he started onto the Cygnet Road exit ramp. Wright then failed to control his vehicle and struck a guardrail. He continued northbound, ran the stop sign at the intersection with Cygnet Road, and struck another guardrail. Wright then attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle but was stopped by a sheriff's deputy. Wright sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken to Wood County Hospital by Mid County 120 EMS. He was not listed as a patient at the hospital this morning. He was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence, driving under suspension, a seat belt violation, and failure to control.
