BG Band offers breakfast
The Bowling Green High School Marching Band is offering an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast this weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon, band members will serve pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. The cost is $6 for adults, and $5 for senior citizens and children under 12.
There is an extra $2 fee for gourmet pancakes.
Coffee is being donated by Grounds for Thoughts. The pancake mix is donated by Bob Evans. The Griddle is donated by BG Kiwanis.

Otsego JH dedicated Sunday
TONTOGANY - An open house and dedication for the newly renovated Otsego Junior High school will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Junior High gym.
There will be an opportunity to walk through the building following the dedication until 4 p.m.

Community Center closed next week
The Bowling Green Community Center will be closed Monday through Aug. 23 for routine yearly maintenance. The front desk will remain open for Parks & Recreation business from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the exception of Aug. 23, when it will be closed 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a departmental planning meeting.

Anti-fracking petition certified
An initiative petition for an anti-hydraulic fracturing amendment to Bowling Green's City Charter has been certified by the Wood County Board of Elections.
A report Thursday from the BOE to City Finance Director Brian Bushong indicates 1,404 valid signatures among the 1,794 signatures submitted for review. To be certified the petitions need 719 valid signatures or 10 percent of the number of people who voted in Bowling Green's 2011 municipal election.
A total of 376 signatures were ruled invalid. There were no valid signatures with invalid circulators and no invalid signatures with invalid circulators, according to the BOE report.
The issue will be placed on the Nov. 5 ballot.

Fighter Wing temporarily moved to Dayton
The 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard will begin conducting all flying operations out of Wright-Patterson A.F.B., beginning today, for approximately three weeks due to scheduled runway maintenance at Toledo Express Airport.
