Anti-fracking petition turned in
Petitions with nearly 1,800 signatures to place a charter amendment on the ballot that would ban hydraulic fracturing in Bowling Green, were turned into BG City Finance Director Brian Bushong Thursday. The Project BG Team of the FreshWater Accountability Project ran the petition drive.
Bushong said he has taken the petitions to the Wood County Board of Elections. The BOE will verify that enough valid signatures exist to place the issue on the ballot.
Bushong said the BOE indicated there need to be 719 valid signatures for the petition to be valid.
