Poop closes BG pool on Friday
The zero depth entry pool and lazy river were closed Friday due to a fecal incident.
These areas will remain closed until at least late Saturday afternoon, at which time the city will reevaluate the chlorine levels to make sure they are at safe levels for swimming. If the chlorine levels are not where they need to be, these areas may remain closed for a longer period.
Fecal accidents have closed Bowling Green’s aquatic complex three times since it opened June 15, costing an estimated $5,000 in revenue, it was reported at the Tuesday Board of Parks and Recreation meeting.
The board was told that when this happens, the pool has to close for at least 22 hours while a huge amount of chlorine is injected to kill any bacteria.
