BG egg-chicken study to continue
At least one more meeting is planned by the subcommittee of the Bowling Green Planning Commission that is studying a proposal to amend the zoning code to allow egg-laying chickens in residential neighborhoods.
The subcommittee held its first meeting Tuesday night with about 35 people in attendance.
A total of 13 people shared their views on the issue. Supporters and detractors were about evenly represented.
The date and time for the next subcommittee will be announced.

One person hurt in Wed. mishap
SCOTCH RIDGE -  At least one person was injured following a crash at Ohio 199 and Sugar Ridge Road near the Webster Township building Wednesday.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that the crash took place just after 3 p.m. and involved a single vehicle.
An occupant was reportedly injured and suffering chest pains. The vehicle struck a utility pole and suffered heavy front end damage.
Further details were not available this morning because the accident report was not complete.

Honor Flight program Aug. 2
GRAND RAPIDS - An informative meeting on the Honor Flight Network will be held Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alva N. Sidle American Legion Post 232, 12580 River Road, Grand Rapids.
David Chilson will be the speaker.

Blood drives set
The American Red Cross has announced two blood drives for Wood County:
• Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m., sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Blessed John XXIII Catholic Community, 24250 Dixie Hwy., Perrysburg.
• Aug. 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., First Christian Church, 875 Haskins Road, Bowling Green.
