Paraglider injured in crash
A Chicago man who crashed his paraglider into a barn east of Bowling Green Sunday was listed in critical
condition this morning.
Petr Svoboda, 39, remained hospitalized in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Mercy St. Vincent Medical
Center, Toledo.
Lt. Rodney Konrad of the Wood County Sheriff’s Office said that Svoboda had been flying in the glider –
which is usually towed behind a vehicle until it becomes airborne, and which is then released to glide
freely – for approximately 15 minutes and was making his descent when he struck the side of a barn in
the area of Anderson Road and Scotch Ridge Road.
He was taken to the hospital by air ambulance.
Konrad indicated that no damage was reported to the barn or the glider.
Injury crash reported in Risingsun
RISINGSUN – The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a two-vehicle injury crash in the
village Saturday.
The incident was reported around 4:15 p.m. at U.S. 23 and Main Street.
At least one person was taken to Wood County Hospital with what were characterized by a dispatcher as
minor injuries.
Additional details were not available this morning.
Haskins holds meeting tonight
