Poe Road closes today
West Poe Road will be closed between Green and Tontogany roads starting today.
The project to replace culverts will take about three weeks, county road officials report.

Fireworks use nets arrest
One man was arrested Friday after officers responded to a fireworks compliant.
Nicholas Theis, 20, was arrested for disorderly conduct/fireworks and underage/under the influence after
officers were called at 11:39 p.m. to the 100 block of North Prospect Street.
He was released.
Officers responded to several complains in the city, and issued warnings and confiscated fireworks.
Train blocks crossings
The Wood County Sheriff’s office fielded several calls late Friday into the early morning hours of
Saturday regarding blocked railroad crossings from approximately Garling Road to the north and Sugar
Ridge Road to the south near Luckey.
According to information provided to the office by CSX, the railroad’s yard was full due to the holiday.
The crew for the train left the train prior to a new crew arriving hours later.
Picnic in park on Wednesday
Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department along with the Wood County District Public Library will
host a Family Picnic in the Park on Wednesday.
The event will include hands-on program entitled "Fizz Boom Read!"
Bring the family and a picnic dinner to the Martin and Kiwanis shelters in City Park between 5:30 and
6:30 p.m. Drinks and dessert will be provided with the program running from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
