Rt. 6 crash sends three to hospital
Three people were taken to Wood County Hospital following a crash at U.S. 6 and Wapakoneta Road on
Friday.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 2:53 p.m. Thomas Robinson, McClure, was stopped
eastbound on Route 6 at Wapakoneta with his left turn signal on, yielding the right of way to oncoming
traffic prior to making a left turn.
At that time, a vehicle driven by Haley Friesner, Sherwood, also eastbound on Route 6, came upon
Robinson’s vehicle and could not stop in time.
Friesner’s vehicle swerved to the right to avoid a collision and struck the passenger side right rear of
Robinson’s vehicle with its mirror.
The vehicle then continued across Wapakoneta Road, and ran off the right side of the road and into grass,
striking a cement culvert.
Friesner and two passengers, Torri Dewilde and David Tussing, both of Bryan, were taken to the hospital
with possible injuries.
Robinson and his passenger were not injured.
Friesner was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Fort Meigs Rd. to close for bridge painting
On July 9 through July, Fort Meigs Road at I-475 will be closed for bridge painting.
