Community Band concert Sunday
The Bowling Green Area Community Band will open the Concerts in the Park series Sunday at 7 p.m. on the Needle Hall Stage in City Park.
The band performs a mix of marches, patriotic tunes, Broadway songs and popular music from a variety of eras.
Author speaks at Way Library
PERRYSBURG - Monclova resident and author James Emch will speak Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Way Public Library.
Emch will speak on his new book, "All But Forgotten," the story of William Dudley's defeat during the first siege of Fort Meigs. Also known as Dudley's Massacre, the battle took place on May 13, 1813, in the woods in what is now the City of Maumee.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
Millbury FD holds gun raffle
MILLBURY - The Millbury Fire Department, part of the Lake Township Fire Department, is raffling off a gun to raise funds.
Tickets are $10 each to try to win the Bushmaster 223 Cal Tactical Rifle with a Sig Sauer Prismatic Scope. The winner will also get 500 rounds of American Eagle ammo.
The drawing is Sept. 1. The winner doesn't have to be present to win, but must be able to pass a federal background check.

Washington Twp. zoning Tuesday
TONTOGANY -Washington Township's Zoning Commission meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the township offices in Tontogany.
Main-Parkview work next week
The southbound curb lane of North Main Street, in the vicinity of Parkview Avenue, will be closed during the week of June 10.
Access to businesses and driveways will be maintained. During the closure, gas line relocation work will be done by Columbia Gas.
Panic, anxiety meeting Monday
Generalized Anxiety Disorder will be the topic for Monday's meeting of the Panic and Anxiety Disorder Support Group.
The group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Medical Building at Wood County Hospital, 970 W. Wooster St.
