Waterline work closes S. College
South College Drive, between Second and Fourth streets, will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday for water line repairs.
Council meets in N. Baltimore
NORTH BALTIMORE – Village council will hold a special meeting on Monday at 7 p.m.
Items on the agenda include, change order for the sewer separation project; appropriation of funds from
the stormwater fund for the storm sewer repair on Broadway Street; and discussion of disability
separation of an employee.
Museum seeks tour guides
The Wood County Historical Museum is in need of tour guides. Anyone with an interest in learning the
inner-workings of the museum by being a mobile or stationary tour guide, can call 419-352-0967. Talking
points and walk-through training will be provided.
Ohio 65 closed starting Monday
PERRYSBURG – A closure of Ohio 65 starting Monday will necessitate a detour for drivers.
The closure will be at Route 65 near Cross Creek Road, Ohio 582 and Ovitt Road and is expected to last
for 15 days.
The closure is due to road work, including the replacement of four culverts.
The detour for drivers will be Ohio 235, Kellogg Road and Ohio 64 from June 16 to 18. From June 19 to 27,
the detour route will be Route 64 and Route 582.
Closures will be in effect only on weekdays.
Sewer district honors Current
JERRY CITY – Northwestern Water and Sewer District will dedicate a park bench in the village to a former
leader of the district at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The bench and a concrete area recognize the efforts of John "Jack" Current in helping form and
support early operations of the water and sewer district. Current and his wife, Evelyn, both passed away
in 2013.
Current was one of the district’s original nine board members after it was planned in 1992, according to
a news release. He was a master machinist by trade and worked until his final year fabricating parts.
Current was focused, rational and a strong supporters in helping county residents receive service,
committed to a regional approach.
"He was a solid thinker, rational and fair to all he befriended," said Jerry Greiner, district
president. "He represented the local community well, especially the south end of the county."

Wood County Port Authority meeting is Monday morning
The Wood County Port Authority will meet Monday at 7:30 a.m. at Northwestern Water and Sewer, 12560
Middleton Pike.
