Attempted burglary in BG
A man attempted to burglarize an apartment on Clough Street Saturday night.
The incident was reported just before 10 p.m. at an apartment in the 1000 block of Clough.
A resident told police that the subject – described as a thin black male wearing jeans and a white
t-shirt, and possibly green shoes – had partially gained entry to the residence through a window when
the resident saw him and scared him off.
Police checked the area but were unable to find anyone.
Northwood to hold OVI checkpoint
NORTHWOOD – The city’s police have announced they will conduct an OVI checkpoint later this week with the
Lucas County OVI Taskforce.
The location of the checkpoint has not yet been disclosed.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to help deter motorists from choosing to drive while under the influence
of alcohol or drugs, and to try to intercept those that have already made the choice to drive while
under the influence.
Other agency officials will assist the Northwood Police, and traffic control support will be provided by
the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Food giveaway in BG
The monthly government food distribution will be Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the First United
Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St.
