Number of Perrysburg businesses cited for underage sales climbs
More Perrysburg businesses cited for underage sales
PERRYSBURG – Another series of underage sales and furnishing citations were issued Tuesday to businesses
in the city.
The citations were issued as part of alcohol compliance checks by Perrysburg Police.
Cited were:
• Kathleen Friess, 55, Perrysburg, at Cocina de Carlos, 27072 Carronade Dr., Suite F, for furnishing to
an underage person.
• Taylor Heckman, 22, Perrysburg, at Bai Du Chinese Restaurant, 580 Craig Dr., No. 3, for underage sales.

• Kelli Hufford, 45, Perrysburg, at Rose & Thistle Pub and Restaurant, 203 Louisiana Ave., for
furnishing to an underage person.
• Tracey Smith, 42, Perrysburg, at 5th Street Pub, 105 W. Fifth St., for underage sales.
This latest batch of citations brings the total number of citations issued in the city to 17 since May
14, involving different 15 businesses.
BG Traffic Commission meets
The Bowling Green Traffic Commission will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. in council chambers.
Among the agenda items will be the election of officers and the affirmation of orders to install "no
parking" signs at portion of Lincoln and South Enterprise streets.
BG utilities will meet June 9
The Bowling Green Board of Public Utilities will not hold its scheduled meeting Monday due to lack of
official business for board action.
The next meeting will be held June 9.

BG man involved in two crashes
A Bowling Green man was taken to an area hospital Thursday following his involvement in traffic crashes
reported two hours apart.
At 6:36 a.m., Matthew Zeigler, 25, was driving southbound on U.S. 23 at Greensburg Pike when he was
struck from behind by a semi tractor-trailer driven by Bernie Wolfe, Hopewell.
Neither driver was injured. Wolfe was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Zeigler was injured in a second crash at 8:44 a.m. at Ohio 199 near U.S. 6.
Zeigler, driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was westbound on Route 6 and made a right turn on Ohio
199.
A second vehicle, driven by Donald Gerke, Pemberville, was stopped westbound at a stop sign on North
River Road, and did not yield, proceeding south onto Route 199.
Zeigler reportedly swerved to avoid Gerke’s vehicle, and the motorcycle went down onto its side.
Zeigler, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle. He sustained non-incapacitating
injuries and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, by Pemberville EMS.
Gerke was cited for failure to yield.
OVI check on Ohio 18 tonight
NORTH BALTIMORE — The village police department, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and other
agencies, will hold an OVI checkpoint tonight from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Ohio 18.
The checkpoint, funded by federal grants, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. It will be
held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

Police advise that those planning to consume alcohol should designate a driver or make other arrangements
before they drink.
Wood Workers Guild meets
The Northwest Ohio Wood Workers Guild will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Bowling Green High School ag
ed/FFA classroom and shop.
Harold Leemaster will give a presentation on handmade tools. The meeting is open to the public.
