Cash taken in burglary
WESTON – Cash was stolen in a burglary reported in the village Tuesday.
The incident was reported in the 18000 block of Sand Ridge Road at 6:32 p.m.
According to information from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, more than $1,000 in cash was taken.
Forcible entry was reportedly observed at the scene.
Thrown object strikes vehicle
Another incident of an object thrown from a vehicle at a woman was reported in the city Tuesday.
Bowling Green Police were called to South Main and Clough streets just after 3 p.m. on report of the
incident.
A woman reported she was driving southbound on Main Street when an occupant of a red two-door car
occupied by three white males thrown an unknown object at her. The vehicle then drove away.
The woman was not injured, and the vehicle was not damaged.
A similar incident was reported May 15 at Fifth Street and High Street, in which an occupant of a blue
Subaru reportedly threw a soft drink container at a woman while she was roller-blading. The container
struck her in the head.
Area woman hurt in crash
VAN BUREN – A Fostoria woman was injured in a rollover crash Tuesday in Hancock County, southeast of the
village.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 5:11 p.m. Tamme Morehart, Fostoria, was northeast on
County Road 18, north of County Road 216, and approaching railroad tracks when her 1999 GMC Suburban
struck a railroad crossbuck that was lowering due to an oncoming train.
The vehicle traveled across the center line of the railroad, then traveled back across the center line
and rolled over as it traveled off the east side of the roadway.
The vehicle came to rest on its top, leaning against a power pole.
Morehart was taken by Hanco EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, with unknown injuries.
She was cited for operation without reasonable control and driving under or around railroad crossing
gates.
