BG Rotary meets Thursday
Bowling Green Rotary will meet Thursday and hear updates on the BG Community Foundation.
Bridget Holgate, of the Toledo Community Foundation, is the guest.
The group will meet at 11:40 a.m. at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Perrysburg meeting canceled
PERRYSBURG – The May meeting of the Planning and Zoning Committee, scheduled for Wednesday, has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items.
The committee meets the third Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. in council chambers.
Flowerpot ‘ashtray’ led to fire
A flammable flowerpot was the culprit in a porch fire reported on Church Street Friday.
The Bowling Green Fire Division was called to 249 S. Church St. at 7 a.m. Upon arrival, the blaze had already been extinguished by a resident.
A fire report states that a wooden flowerpot on the porch had been used as an ashtray and caught fire. The lower side and bottom of the pot had begun to burn, and the flames spread to the wooden floor of the porch.
No injuries were reported.
Seat belts get top priority
LIME CITY – Wood County Safe Communities will be hosting its first Click It or Ticket kickoff Friday.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Perrysburg Walmart store, 10392 Fremont Pike.
The event will kick off the annual Click It or Ticket National Mobilization, which runs from May 20 through June 2.
The event will include activities for all ages, as well as interaction with coalition partners, local retail partners, and local law enforcement and fire personnel. Games, prizes and giveaways will be held.
August is next brush pick up in Pemberville
PEMBERVILLE — The next brush pickup in Pemberville will be Aug. 5.
In the meantime, the village provides a drop off at the Street Department Building that can be utilized by residents.
