Bradner levy passes
BRADNER - Voters in Bradner passed an additional 2-mill levy for village parks on Tuesday. The levy won with 61 percent of the vote, with an unofficial tally of 67 to 43 votes.
Bicycle spokesman sought in BG
The Bowling Green Bicycle Safety Commission is sponsoring the 13th annual Bicycle Spokesperson of the Year award. Nomination forms for this annual award are now available at the City Administration Building, Community Center, Simpson Building and the city's Web site.
Any Bowling Green citizen can be nominated who exemplifies the spirit of bicycling through involvement in biking, bike safety or bike-related activities. Nominations must be submitted by May 17.

Kiwanis hear project update
The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will receive an update on the Kiwanis International Eliminate Project and also elect new officers at its weekly meeting at noon on Thursday at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Kiwanis International and UNICEF joined forces to raise more than $100 million to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus that kills more than 60,000 babies and mothers each year. The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club set a goal to raise $10,000 for the Eliminate Project over a four-year period. The campaign began last year and has raised about $2,000 so far. Co-chairman Matt Reger and Gary Saunders will update the club on the progress of the campaign.
Members of the club will vote for a new slate of officers who will take office in October.
BG VFW hosts pork steak dinner
VFW Post 1148 will offer a pork steak dinner Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 719 S. Main St.

Poppy Days in BG
Thursday through Saturday will be Buddy Poppy Days in Bowling Green.
Poppies are given in exchange for a donation. Members will be outside Walmart and at VFW Post 1148, 719 S. Main St.
