Poppy Day in Perrysburg
PERRYSBURG -Post VFW 6170 in Perrysburg will hold its annual Poppy Day sale on Saturday.
Poppies may be found from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kazmaier's Market on East Second, Walt Churchill's Market on Ohio 25, and a the post office on Louisiana Avenue.
Donations for the poppies will support the VFW National Home for Children in Eaton Rapids, Mich.
This is the VFW's only fundraiser each year.
The poppies are made by disabled veterans and are never sold. Contributions support rehabilitation and child welfare efforts for veterans and their families.

Baked steak dinner in Bradner
BRADNER - The American Legion will serve a baked steak dinner Sunday at the legion post, 209 W. Crocker St., from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The meal is $6.

Student robbed on BGSU campus
A female student reported a robbery that occurred just after 9 p.m. Monday on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
She indicated that an unknown male grabbed her mobile phone out of her hand and scratched her face during the theft. The incident happened just outside the courtyard door to Founders Quadrangle. She described the suspect as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was reportedly wearing a purple hoodie with the words "True Religion."
Those with any information that may be helpful to the investigation are asked to call BGSU Police at (419) 372-2346.

Webster Twp. changes meeting
The Webster Township Trustees will hold their monthly meeting on May 14 instead of May 13 at the Webster Township hall at 7:30 a.m.

Thrivent chapter meets Sunday
The Wood County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Board will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge.
Members are welcome.

Montgomery Township meeting changed
BRADNER - Due to Election Day, the regular meeting of the Montgomery Township Trustees originally scheduled for Tuesday has been moved to Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the township building, 1950 Mermill Road.
