Carney pays visit to BG
State Representative John Carney will be visiting the Wood County Democrats monthly meeting this Thursday at 7:30 at the Simpson Park Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave.
Carney is considering running for Ohio Auditor and will be discussing his ideas for improving the transparency and accountability of state government.
All are welcome to attend.
'Measure Up' campaign starts
The local of Knights of Columbus will hold their annual "Measure Up" campaign Thursday through Saturday in Bowling Green.
Funds go to support Wood Lane programs.
Members will be downtown in front of Ben Franklin and Panera Bread all three days and Saturday only at Walmart.
Band members get probation
Austin Carlile and Loniel Robinson II were each given probation when they appeared in Bowling Green Municipal Court Monday.
The two were charged with felony assault after striking a man outside the Clazel on March 30 after a concert. Both had their charge amended to assault and each paid a $335 fine.
Carlile is the lead singer and Robinson is drum technician for the band Of Mice And Men. Both men are from California.
They were put on probation for one year and are to have no criminal offenses during that time or have any contact with the victim. Both were given 91 days jail time with 90 days suspended.
Both were told to make restitution, though no amount was given.
Sex offense reported Monday
BRADNER - A sex offense was reported in the village late Monday.
The incident, involving a juvenile, was reported to the Wood County Sheriff's Office just before midnight and occurred on North East Street.
in Monday crash
One person was taken to the hospital following a crash Monday.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that at 2:34 p.m., Rebecca Bowen, Bradner, was stopped eastbound on Elmore Road at the Bradner Road intersection when she proceeded into the intersection and was struck by Linda Kopchak, Ashland, who was northbound on Bradner Road.
Kopchak sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Wood County Hospital by Pemberville-Freedom Township EMS. Her passenger was not injured.
Bowen was cited for right-of-way on through highways.
