One injured in crash
JERRY CITY - A Bloomdale woman was injured in a Thursday night crash on Huffman Road north of the village.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that at 11:10 p.m. Jeffrey Bockbrader, Bloomdale, was southbound on Huffman Road, just south of Ohio 281, when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign at the intersection and struck a vehicle driven by Teresa Benschoter, Bloomdale, in the rear.
Benschoter's vehicle then spun out and came to rest in a ditch.
Benschoter sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken to Wood County Hospital by Central Joint EMS. She was not listed as a patient at the hospital this morning.
Bockbrader was cited for a stop sign violation as well as expired registration.
VFW hosts dinner
WALBRIDGE -VFW Post 9963, 109 N. Main St., Walbridge, will hold a steak dinner Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $10.
BGCS bands open house
On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the band and orchestra teachers of Bowling Green City Schools will be hosting the annual open house for elementary students and their parents.
Current fourth-graders are welcome to explore beginning orchestra and current fifth-graders are welcome to explore the beginning band instruments.
The teaching staff will be available to answer questions, recommend instruments and explain the programs.
There will be instrument rental/purchase information and resources available on-site, as well.
Author Fair in BG
Nearly 15 local authors and organizations will be present Saturday at the Wood County District Public Library's Author's Fair.
The event, taking place in the Library Atrium, will be held at 1 p.m.
Writers of children's books, nonfiction, and fiction will be on hand to talk about books and their writing process.
Attending writers will include: Maria Tatham, Shelley R. Lee, Louis Sonnenberg, Wayne Vinson, Melanie Boulis, Stephen Smetzer, Eric Myerholtz, Jason Born, Herbert Dettmer, Laurence St. John, Shar Dimick, Maumee Valley Romance Writers of America, Wendell Mayo and Will Santino.
