Book sale in Pemberville
PEMBERVILLE – In celebration of National Library Week, the Pemberville Library is holding its annual
spring sale. Hundreds of books and videos can be purchased.
The sale will run through Saturday during library hours: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
BGSU volunteers is Kiwanis topic
A group from Bowling Green State University will present a program on volunteerism among BGSU students to
the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club at noon Thursday at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Dr. Ed Whipple, vice president for student affairs, will lead the program along with other members of his
staff and two BGSU students. They will explain some of the opportunities for students to be engaged in
volunteer activities both on and off the campus.
Earth Day at Montessori
Families are invited to the Montessori School of Bowling Green on Thursday at 4 p.m. for a special Earth
Day event. Enjoy special stories, activities, a tree-planting and nature walks – and take home a
sapling.
This event is free and open to the public. The school is located at 515 Sand Ridge Road.
This event is a partnership with BG Parks and Recreation, Klotz Flower Farm, Wood County District Public
Library and the Wood, Soil and Water Conservation District and Montessori School of Bowling Green.
Eagles officers due April 27
The Bowling Green Eagles Aerie will hold an election of officers April 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Free legal clinic set for Thursday
The monthly Neighborhood Legal Services Clinic will be Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Bowling Green
Alliance Church, 1161 Napoleon Road in Bowling Green. The service is free and open to anyone with a
legal question.
Those desiring to speak to an attorney should be there by 5 p.m. to fill out paperwork.
Crash sends one to hospital
One woman was taken to an area hospital Friday afternoon in a crash at Ohio 25 and Ohio 582 north of the
city.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, at 3:36 p.m. James Jividen, Perrysburg, driving a 1994 Honda
Accord, was southbound on Route 25 when he failed to yield the right of way when turning left and was
struck by a northbound 2004 Mercury Monterey driven by Deena Halleck, Bowling Green. Both vehicles
traveled off the northeast corner of the intersection. Jividen’s vehicle then struck a traffic sign and
traffic signal support pole.
Halleck was transported to Wood County Hospital by Middleton Township EMS with non-incapacitating
injuries. Jividen reported possible injuries, but was not transported from the scene.
He was cited for right of way when turning left.
Wind rips roof off truck
An accident on Interstate 75 Friday afternoon diverted traffic through Bowling Green.
According to a patrolman from the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, high winds contributed
to the accident.
Patrolman Vilay Sayarath said the roof came off a 2006 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer, and struck a
U-Haul truck. Both vehicles were northbound when the incident happened around 2:10 p.m. just over two
miles south of Ohio 582. There were no injuries and no citations were issued.
