Author speaks at Grounds for Thought
The public is invited to participate in a conversation with Arthur Neal, a retired distinguished professor of Sociology at Bowling Green State University and co-author of "Uprising in Bowling Green: How the Quiet Fifties Became the Political Sixties."
He will be at Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday.
The event is free and open to the public.
Meeting to discuss aviation program canceled
The public meeting originally scheduled for next week on the possible privatizing of the flight training program at Bowling Green State University has been canceled.
The meeting had been scheduled at the request of aviation students and staff, who asked Faris Mahlas, dean of the BGSU College of Technology, to explain the possible changes to the aviation program.
However, shortly after the meeting was announced in the media Wednesday, the dean canceled the gathering and said instead that he would meet with individual aviation classes to explain the plans to privatize flight training.
Rural BG home burglarized
A burglary was reported at a home in rural Bowling Green Monday.
The incident, in the 18000 block of River Road, was reported just after 7 p.m.
Items valued at $125 were taken from the home, including a coin bank and a jar of coins.
Forcible entry was evident at the residence.
Swim lessons, passes offered at Pemberville pool
Sign-up days for Pemberville Community Pool Swim Team, swim lessons and season passes have been set for Saturday and May 11, at Pemberville Elementary gymnasium from 9 a.m. to noon.
In addition, there are still available some part-time positions for lifeguards.
