High water claims car near Pemberville
PEMBERVILLE – Pemberville firefighters had to help a driver get out of her car after it had to be
abandoned in high water Friday night, near New Rochester.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the car was trapped in high water on North River Road near
Zepernick Road.
A tow truck could not reach the vehicle so it had to be left in the road.
The firefighters walked the driver through the water that had reached the doors of the vehicle.
Perrysburg to collect brush
PERRYSBURG – Homeowners using city brush pickup must have items placed at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday when
collection begins.
A new limit on length this year is 12 feet. All brush must be placed at the curb in loose stacks, not
bundles, parallel to the street. Small clippings should be placed in personal trash cans, not city
Toters. Crews will begin on the east side of the city and work west, collecting branches, bushes, logs,
stumps, firewood and Christmas trees.
Once crews have been down a street, they will not return. A supervisor will check daily to make sure all
piles were picked up. Collection does not include yard waste or large items. If mixed with brush,
everything will be left and homeowners will be responsible for removal.
For information on those items, contact the Department of Public Service at 419-872-8020 or visit
www.ci.perrysburg.oh.us.
Metal, stones and other debris may damage equipment or injure workers.
Wood chips will no longer be available for delivery. Wood mulch is available at no charge to residents in
an area outside the locked gate at the city compost site.
