Pemberville man dies in crash
PEMBERVILLE - A village man is dead following an accident Monday on Alexander Road.
Gerald Abke, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene after Pemberville Fire and EMS crews responded to the accident site.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office reports that at 1:38 p.m. Abke, driving a pickup truck, was westbound on Alexander Road, between Fish Road and Ohio 199, when he slid off the roadway and the vehicle flipped several times.
The crash remains under investigation.

Tree work closes N. Summit St.
North Summit, between Court and Pike, will be closed daily from  7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday for tree work.
While no through traffic will be permitted on North Summit, access to the Wood County parking lot will be maintained.

Traffic Commission adds item
A third item has been added to the agenda for Wednesday night's meeting of the Bowling Green Traffic Commission.
•    Removal of two on-street parking spaces in front of 123 and 129 S. Prospect St. as part of the CVS construction projects and to maintain adequate ingress/egress.
The commission meets at 7 in the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St.

Odor problems at BG plant being rectified
Problems with odors emanating from Bowling Green's wastewater treatment plant on Dunbridge Road should be rectified in the next two weeks.
Plant Superintendent Doug Clark told the Board of Public Utilities Monday night that plant personnel have installed new filtration media in a section of the operation and returned the device to design specifications.
"It take will a up to couple of weeks for the bio process to consume those odors. We are on that path. We have notified the EPA. I apologize for the problem. We have been working with it diligently. We have gotten back to design specs and we will keep it that way," Clark said.
