BG's east side topic of meeting
The Community Improvement Committee of Bowling Green  meets Monday at 6 p.m. in the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St., to discuss unspecified east-side issues.

State of county discussed
A state of the county address will be presented by Wood County Commissioners James Carter, Doris Herringshaw and Joel Kuhlman Tuesday at 8 a.m. in the courthouse atrium.

The annual address provides an opportunity for the public to hear the commissioners' perspectives on the important events that occurred in Wood County during 2012, as well as thoughts for 2013.
The event is sponsored by the Business Council of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and the Wood County Economic Development Commission. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 a.m.

Extra patrols out this weekend
The Wood County Sheriff's Office will conduct increased patrols over the St. Patrick's Day weekend through Monday.
Deputies will pay particular attention for violations, such as driving under the influence, failure to yield, and speeding, all of which are leading factors in fatal crashes.
The blitz is funded by a grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.

joint meeting set
TONTOGANY - The Washington Township Trustees will hold a joint meeting with the zoning boards Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the township building before their regular meeting which begins at 8 p.m. due to daylight savings time.

Clean water advocate to give talk in Perrysburg
PERRYSBURG — Sandy Bihn, clean waterways advocate and Western Lake Erie Waterkeeper will talk at the Way Public Library Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Bihn is an official waterkeeper of the nonprofit Waterkeeper’s Alliance and also a long-time resident of the shores of Maumee Bay.
Bihn will describe the problems associated with the introduction of Asian Carp into waterways and the need for a permanent solution.
She will also address the role of climate change in the dropping water level of Lake Erie.
This program is free and open to the public.
