BG police offer liquor training
The Bowling Green Police Division will be providing free Liquor Establish Employee Training Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The training will focus on civil liability, Ohio and Bowling Green liquor laws and fake ID recognition.
Employees and management staff of local businesses (bars and retail outlets) that sell alcoholic beverages are encouraged to attend. Training will take place at the BGPD Training Room, 175 W. Wooster St.

BG Kiwanis look at War of 1812
Events marking the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 will be the subject of the program at the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club at noon on Thursday at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Retired Bowling Green State University professor Dave Chilson will present the program, featuring the Fleet Week, which will make a stop in Toledo from Aug. 23-27.  One of the ships that will be part of Fleet Week is the USS Niagara which sunk during the War of 1812 and was raised and restored.
Chilson, a professor of computer science for 31 years, is a retired captain in the U.S. Navy and works part-time for the U.S. Naval Academy as a Blue and Golf Officer and the Northwest Ohio area coordinator for academy information.

Employers event slated March 16
PERRYSBURG - The Employers' Association's 16th annual Employment Law Conference is March 16, at the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons in Perrysburg.
The conference is designed to provide HR professionals, business owners and CEOs with current information regarding employment law and pending legislation.
