Gardner to speak at Kiwanis mtg.
Ohio Sen. Randy Gardner, R-Bowling Green, is the guest speaker at Thursday's Bowling Green Kiwanis Club noon meeting at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Gardner has represented Bowling Green and the surrounding area for the last 28 years in the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate on an alternating basis due in part to term limits. He served in the House of Representatives for 15 years from 1985-2000, the Senate from 2001-08, the House from 2009-12, and just began a new term in the Senate last month.
Gardner has both a bachelor's and master's degrees from Bowling Green State University and is a former teacher.
Taxicab board meets Thursday
Bowling Green's Taxicab Board of Review will meet Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the Third Floor Conference Room of the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St., to discuss a new taxicab driver license application.
Service learning is Rotary topic
Bowling Green Rotary Club will hear about Service Learning Programs at Bowling Green State University.
Dr. Jane Rosser will provide the program.
The club will meet at 11:40 a.m. Thursday at Bowling Green Country Club.
Bands in concert Thurs.
The Bowling Green Middle School bands will be in concert Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
During the eighth-grade band's three songs, students Nathan Ramos and Brett Rich will be featured on drum set; and Frances Zengel, Keller Mathis, Shaden Elwazani, Rich and Ramos on mallet percussion. They will not be featured on every song.
The seventh-grade band also will perform three songs.
Centennial meets Thursday
A meeting of the directors of Centennial Falcon Properties Inc. has been called for 8 a.m. Thursday in the Caucus Room of McFall Center at Bowling Green State University.
The corporation built the two new residence halls on campus.
The directors will review the Draft IRS-990 return.
