Traffic blitz on Sunday
Wood County Safe Communities has announced that law enforcement will be holding a traffic blitz on Sunday to coincide with the Super Bowl.
Drivers are reminded to be mindful of all traffic safety laws, and to designate a driver if their celebrations will include alcoholic beverages.

Typical flu season in county
Wood County is still experiencing a typical flu season.
As of Jan. 25, there have been 11 flu-related hospitalizations, compared to 12 last season, according to Nikki Brue, epidemiologist at the Wood County Health District. She also advised there has been a total of 59 reported cases in Wood County, compared to 77 cases last year.

Community committee meets Monday
Bowling Green City Council's Community improvement Committee will meet Monday at 6 p.m. to begin discussing the formation of a City/University Relations Commission.
The session will be in council chambers.

CPAs offer free tax help to military families
This tax season, Ohio's deployed military personnel can receive free tax preparation services from volunteer members of The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA).
Through April, Ohio certified public accountants will prepare 2013 tax returns for military personnel who are permanent residents of Ohio and currently deployed outside of the state.
Operation CPA is a partnership with the Ohio National Guard, and provides a valuable service to help ease the burden of deployment on Ohio military families.
