Hoytville council meets
HOYTVILLE - Village council will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the council office, 2418 S. Main St.

Lake snowmobile warning issued
MILLBURY - Lake Township Police Chief Mark Hummer is warning snowmobilers and all-terrain vehicle operators not to trespass on private property.
Hummer said he has had many complaints from farmers about snowmobiles crossing their fields which are planted in winter wheat. Because there is so little snow cover, the snowmobiles can damage the crop even more.
Such activity is considered criminal trespass, a fourth degree misdemeanor. If an all-terrain vehicle or snowmobile is involved, operators are subject to twice the normal fine.

Man charged with rape
Eduardo Garcia-Cruz is lodged in the Wood County jail charged on three counts of rape and three accompanying counts of sexual battery involving a teen girl.
Garcia-Cruz, 24, is being held without bond.
The first rape and sexual battery counts allege events in 2012 with the 15-year-old girl; the second set of charges cite events in July 2012; the final set of charges indicate actions in the first week of December after the victim had turned 16.

Fostoria man killed in crash
FINDLAY — A Fostoria man died Friday in a one-vehicle crash on Township Road 243 south of Township Road 218 in Washington Township.
Oscar Pichardo, 38, lost control of his 1997 Dodge van while driving southbound around 6:42 a.m., according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. The van went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, went airborne and overturned. Pichardo was ejected.
He was transported by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, where he was pronounced dead.
