Eastwood bus garage on fire
The bus garage at Eastwood High School caught fire this morning.
Troy Township called for mutual aid from Middleton Township for a tanker at 7:48 a.m. this morning, and
later asked for a tanker from Wayne. Departments from Freedom, Lake and Perrysburg townships and
Woodville also were called.
Schools Superintendent Brent Welker was on scene and said crews were trying to keep the fire from
spreading to the board office.
No other information was available.
Wood County under Level 2
Wood County was placed under a Level 2 snow emergency by the sheriff’s office around 8:20 this morning.

BG to meet on planning, zoning
Bowling Green’s Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at noon Tuesday in the City
Administrative Services Building for a training seminar. No action will be taken by either body.
Portage Twp. to discuss tax levy
PORTAGE – The Portage Township Trustees will hold a special meeting on Monday at noon in the township
hall at the corner of Huffman and Mermill roads. The purpose of the meeting is to do a resolution of
necessity for a tax levy.
Water units shut in extreme cold
If the wind chill temperature drops below zero degrees Fahrenheit, the Northwestern Water and Sewer
District’s WaterShed water vending units will likely be closed. The internal heating units cannot keep
the treatment system equipment from freezing.
Henry Township elects officers
The Henry Township Trustees held their organizational meeting recently. John Stewart was elected chairman
and James Wymer was elected vice chairman.
Regular meetings will be the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. However the meeting
normally scheduled for Jan. 28. will be Jan. 27 at 6 p.m.
Dog licenses in Pemberville
PEMBERVILLE – The Wood County dog warden will be in the Pemberville Council Chambers on Tuesday from 1 to
4 p.m., for residents to register and purchase dog licenses. The licenses are $14 each payable by cash
or check.

The Wood County Park District Board of Commissioners recently announced its schedule of meetings and
locations for 2014.
