TOLEDO - The son of admitted Islamic Center arsonist Randolph Linn has been subpoenaed to appear at his father's plea withdrawal hearing today. Papers filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court of Toledo indicate that Colton Linn was served last Thursday with the order to appear at the 9 a.m. hearing. The hearing has been scheduled to officially hear the motion of the elder Linn, 52, St. Joe, to withdraw the guilty plea he entered in December to federal hate crimes and weapons charges in the arson at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo last fall. District Court Judge Jack Aouhary denied the motion to withdraw the guilty plea. Linn previously stated he was depressed and under duress at the time of the plea; his lawyer, John Thebes, has argued that no consideration was given to Linn's mental state. Another man, Mike Konger, Albion, Ind., was also subpoenaed to appear. Konger is listed as a supervisor for Shambaugh and Son, a Fort Wayne firm for which Linn formerly worked. There was no testimony given in open court. |
