Law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics travels through county

The 2014 Ohio Law Enforcement Torch Run will pass through Wood County June 25.
Starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Hollywood Casino, the torch will be taken to Rossford, the Perrysburg
Township Police station, Thayer Ford, and the Bowling Green Kroger, reaching the Wood County Courthouse
by 12:30 p.m.
The torch will also pass the Bowling Green Police Station, Wood Lane School and Industry, and will enter
North Baltimore, with its final pass of the day at Bob Kelly Chevrolet.
The overall Torch Run itself begins June 20 in Toledo and continues throughout Ohio through June 27.
The Torch Run is the single largest grassroots fundraising program for Special Olympics Ohio and its more
than 23,000 athletes.
More than 2,000 officers are set to participate in the run, traveling by foot or bicycle through over 150
communities in the state.
The run is presented by the Kroger Company.
