One person seriously hurt in wrong-way I-75 crash PDF Print E-mail

ROSSFORD – One person was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 near the Wales Road exit in the city.
The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 10:10 a.m. Sophie Pecuszok, 83, Walbridge, was northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75, driving a 2001 Chrysler 300, when she struck head-on a 2009 Chevy Cobalt driven by Kristopher Widdersheim, 28, Toledo, who was southbound in the left lane.
Pecuszok was trapped in the vehicle for an extended period of time. She reportedly sustained serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, and was transported to Bay Park Hospital, Oregon, by Northwood EMS. It was not known if she was wearing a seat belt.
Widdersheim sustained minor injuries and was treated and the scene and released. He was wearing a seat belt.
Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash. It is currently unknown where Pecuszok may have entered the interstate, and the investigation is ongoing.
Two lanes of southbound I-75 were closed for approximately one hour.
