The Wood County Humane Society’s annual Wine & Dine event will be held on June 27 in the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union Ballroom on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The event will
run from 6 to 10 p.m.
Guests will enjoy a menu of Spanish-inspired tapas and desserts served community-style at "grazing
stations." Some of the tapas featured on the evening’s menu include: mango quesadillas, cilantro
and lime marinated shrimp, Valencia-style paella, tortilla Española, and roasted red pepper gazpacho.
Planned desserts include coconut flan and traditional churros. Both white and red sangria also will be
served.
The event will feature fine wines from Heidelberg Distributing Company. Guests at the event will be able
to enjoy a photo booth and both a silent and a live auction with celebrity auctioneer Jerry Anderson, an
on-air personality from WTOL Channel 11.
Some of the items up for auction this year include: a getaway package to Las Vegas or Florida and fine
art pieces. A complete list of auction items will soon be available for preview at the WCHS website.
Advance tickets for the event cost $50 each, $95 pair, or $180 group of four. Advance ticket sales run
until June 15. After that, all tickets will be $55 each. Tickets can be purchased at the WCHS website or
from one of the WCHS board members. Cash, check, and credit card payments are accepted.
