| Hawker joins Wood County park board |

Robert Hawker, rural Bowling Green, has been appointed to fill a vacant, unexpired term on the Wood County Park District Board of Commissioners. The appointment was announced Thursday by Wood County Probate and Juvenile Court Judge Dave Woessner. Hawker will fill the remainder of the term of Frank McLaughlin, who resigned in February. This unexpired term runs through Dec. 31. Hawker is a long-time resident of Wood County who has been active in a number of volunteer and community organizations. For the past five years, he has served on the Board of the Friends of the Wood County Parks. In addition, for over 20 years, Hawker has assisted the YMCA/JCC of Greater Toledo in various capacities. He has also been actively involved with the Perrysburg Symphony Association and Junior Achievement. Hawker has worked for the Department of Defense, with private corporations and has owned his own business. The other members of the Wood County Park District are Robert Callecod, Mary McCormick-Krueger, John Calderonello and Joe Long. |
