Police are investigating an incident in which an unknown subject reportedly pulled a gun on a man on East
Wooster Street after a road rage incident.
Bowling Green Police report that at 4:11 p.m. Wednesday, a man was driving southbound on Interstate 75
and got off at the Wooster Street exit when a white BMW reportedly cut him off. The man followed the BMW
to Starbucks, 1560 E. Wooster, exited his vehicle, and confronted the driver.
The BMW driver then reportedly pulled a semi-automatic pistol on the man and pointed it at him.
The driver was described as a white male in his late 50s, balding, wearing glasses and a blue jacket.
Units arrived in the area to search for the vehicle but were unable to locate it.
"Cooler heads should have prevailed in such an incident, but right now we don’t know who the other
person was," said Maj. Tony Hetrick of the BG Police. "We’re looking into it. I think a lot of
that could have been avoided."
He advised that drivers should not exit their vehicles to confront other drivers.
"It’s probably not a good idea to stand there and yell at somebody for that length of time,
especially for something as minor as getting cut off in traffic. It happens."
