Sue Gavron worked as a volunteer with the Wood County Emergency Management Agency for 21 years, serving under three directors since 1992 and retiring effective Tuesday, according to current director Brad Gilbert. Gavron worked primarily as a public information officer but also volunteered in emergency preparedness education and a first-responder dispatcher each year at the Wood County Fair. She was also a national information system instructor, teaching classes on subjects like incident command. She plans to move to Texas later this month.
