WATERVILLE – Two people were taken to Wood County Hospital Wednesday following a four-car crash near the
Waterville Bridge that snarled traffic.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 3:49 p.m. vehicles driven by David Simpson, Waterville;
Sallyann Miles, Perrysburg; and Anthony Groves, Bowling Green, were stopped eastbound on Ohio 64 near
the stop sign at Ohio 65. Several vehicles were ahead of them.
At that time, a vehicle driven by Dan Willcutt III, Toledo, also eastbound, failed to stop and struck
Groves’ vehicle, starting a chain-reaction crash that pushed Groves into Miles, who then struck Simpson.

Groves reported possible injuries and was taken to the hospital by Middleton Township EMS. Miles
sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to the hospital by Northwest 190 EMS.
Willcutt was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
