PERRSYBURG – Fort Meigs will host Muster on the Maumee June 14 and 15.
The event includes re-enactors representing soldiers from over 10 centuries of warfare, from Roman
legions to the modern American military.
Military re-enactors will portray individuals including Vikings, medieval archers, and soldiers from the
War of 1812, American Civil War, and both World Wars, among others. Period camps will be open to tour,
and the troops will demonstrate their uniforms and weapons.
Returning this year is the pike college. Guests can learn how to use a 16-foot-long pike and its role on
the battlefield. Medieval archers will give longbow demonstrations, and there will be a Viking combat
demonstration. Also returning this year are historic artillery firings and the tunes of Bob Ford, folk
musician.
Vendors will also be on hand, as will living historians, craftsmen, and artisans who will demonstrate
their skills and trades for the public.
Fort Meigs will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days of the event.
Event admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for children (6 to 18 years), $1 for Ohio Historical
Society members, and children 5 and under will be admitted free. Active military service members will be
admitted free with appropriate identification.
