(Updated) 1-24-13 3:45 p.m. – At least six fire departments battled a house fire at Custar Road and
Hammansburg Road in Jackson
Township Friday afternoon.
There are no reports of injuries. Winds gusted upwards of 30 mph with a temperature of nine degrees.

The scene is at the northwest corner of the intersection. The Wood County Auditor’s website indicates the
property at 23046 Hammansburg Road is owned by Edwin and Helen Moses.
Tankers emptied water into portable tanks at the scene and went to Custar four miles to the north for
more water.
Jackson and Milton Township firefighters were called first and later requested help from McComb, Central
Joint, Deshler and Weston. At 2:20 p.m. a tanker was requested from North Baltimore.
Fire command asked Wood County dispatch to have the State Fire Marshal’s office call the scene.
The fire scene is about 20 miles southwest of Bowling Green.
