Bowling Green firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire Thursday in the 700 block of South College Drive. The call was received just after 2 p.m. at 737 S. College. Upon arrival, a fire crew found a Chevy Blazer SUV fully involved in flames in the driveway. A man was reportedly attempting to repair one of the vehicle's doors, and was using a blowtorch prior to the incident, but said he'd taken precautions to keep the flames away from the Chevy's interior. The car was discovered in flames by a passerby. The incident was determined to be unintentional, with a report stating that a heating element came too close to combustible materials. Crews remained on-scene for approximately 30 minutes. |
