A fire at Stadium View Apartments Thursday is being determined an "act of nature."
Crews were called to a second floor apartment in the 1700 block of Juniper Court at 8:17 a.m. on the report of a fire on a wooden deck. The blaze was out by the time fire personnel arrived.
The resident reported she was in the apartment when she heard a loud "bang" and went out on the deck, observing a two-foot-tall flame. The "bang" was reportedly the sound of her sliding glass door breaking as the result of the fire.
She attempted unsuccessfully to put the fire out with water, and later succeeded with a combination of smothering the flame with a blanket and dousing it with water after moving a series of flower pots.
A fire report states that sunlight somehow caught a box or bag on the deck on fire.
