A Findlay man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 44-day-old infant on Monday.
Both the Findlay Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to a 7:13 a.m. call of a baby not breathing at 321 Third St. in Findlay. The baby, James M. Hartman, was transported to Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, the investigation revealed that the baby's father, 24-year-old Jerrod M. Hartman of the same address, was responsible for the child's death. An arrest warrant was issued and Jerrod Hartman was arrested Friday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter. He is currently lodged in the Hancock County Justice Center.
The police investigation into the death continues.
