"We take pride in friendly service," says George Roth, manager of BG Battery. "Anybody can buy a battery from 20 places in Bowling Green, but our key to success is fast, friendly service and we will never forget that. Our efficiency, knowledge of the product, and we like what we're doing-that's the difference."
BG Battery, 803 S. Main St., has been open since last September. Roth says his Bowling Green customers have been "Wonderful. They're embracing us, right from the get-go. Within the first month we were probably seeing a dozen customers a day. I thought the focus was going to be college kids, but it turns out customers come from every direction, from 10 to 15 miles away. We do a lot of farm business."
"Our primary business is auto, truck and farm batteries. Then we spread out into all the other little button cells and accessory batteries" including "dog collar batteries, cell phone, cordless phone, camera camcorder, hearing aid, motorcycles and watch batteries."
BG Battery supplies batteries for marine equipment, lawn mowers and golf carts. "I've heard Bowling Green is a golf cart friendly town, and we have a large selection of golf cart batteries in stock. We have 6, 8 and 12 volt in stock every day."
"Our claim to fame is we're your one stop shop for everything battery related. We also do special orders and if we don't have the battery in Perrysburg we can usually have any battery a customer might need in a week or less."
BG Battery is owned by Dynalite in Perrysburg. "We have four locations," Roth explains. "Columbus, Perrysburg, Bowling Green and Holland."
"We offer free testing of the customer's car battery and we offer free installation of any battery purchased here."
They offer a reconditioned battery with a "one-year free replacement warranty; we will install the battery for $39.95. It's usually done in 20 minutes or less after we check it's charging with a volt meter."
"We just had the lawnmower, marine and motorcycle sales," Roth explains. "Our two busiest seasons are spring, with all the things coming out of storage-marine, motorcycle, travel trailer, that type of thing-the other busy time is the coldest days of the year."
open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
